show me detroit tours
A local's perspective
Pat Haller Owner & Tour Guide
This small (but mighty good) tour company made its debut in late 2011. It just seemed like a good fit for a native Detroiter with a love of Detroit. This came after a long career in downtown management and marketing. I wanted Show Me Detroit Tours to be a fun blend of tourism, entertainment and education.
Thirteen years later I know that being a private tour guide calls for high levels of curiosity, adventure, research, organization, and hospitality (thanks Mom). And always a few laughs along the way.
I also enjoy meeting the people who take tours. They're friendly, outgoing and adventurous. And I'm very grateful for their kind words and great online reviews over the years.
that's me (pat) in red!
I'm lucky to know many great tour guide friends who love to take a day to re-explore Detroit. We all share a love of this ever-evolving city.
Pat's Tour Tip -- If you're planning to tour the Motown Museum, get an online reservation ASAP. They often sell out, but sometimes have a few last-minute walk-in tickets.
hudson's easter bunny
This is me (Pat Haller) sizing-up the the J.L Hudson Department Store bunny. I offer this as proof that I'm a Detroiter -- through and through.
yes, that's canada
I'm a riverfront resident who can see Canada out my window. But many of my tour guests are very surprised that it's really Canada -- right over there.
Pat's Tour Tip -- While we don't tour in Canada, don't forget to bring your passport (or enhanced drivers licence) if you want to visit Windsor, Ontario (in Canada) on your own.
all about cities
"My career has always been focused on the effective management of downtown districts. I served as VP at the New Center Council, consulted for the Downtown Detroit Partnership, CEO's for Cities, and others. I founded Comerica TasteFest, managed New Center Park, and co-founded the Palmer Park Art Fair. I studied fine arts at the College for Creative Studies and WSU. I think it was all to get me ready for my current (and favorite) gig -- Show Me Detroit Tours." Pat Haller
